I did not read much in February. University kept me busy. So this post will be short.
Girl, Wash Your Face, by Rachel Hollis
I listened to the audiobook version of this book. I really liked that she is the narrates the book herself. This is a really hard book to rate and talk about. Some chapters were great and I learned from them. Some chapters were horrible, they felt privileged and the advise was useless. She writes about her own life and lessons she learned on the way and while it is great that some things work for her I feel like it would not work for everybody. Since there are some really insightful chapters and some bad ones it is hard to judge and rate this book. I will give it 3 stars since I learned a few things (and it being a self-help book that is important) but there are other better self-help books out there so I would not really recommend reading this book.
Spinning Silver, by Naomi Novik
While I loved Uprooted by Naomi Novik (click here for my Uprooted review) I did not really care for this book. I did not really understand everything that was going on. It is based on a folklore that I do not know, so that may be part of the reason why I did not fully understand the book and could not completely enjoy it. The story kinda dragged on and I did not really know where it was going. While I loved Uprooted and would really recommend reading that book I would not recommend this one. I gave it 3 stars.
